It’s fall, and in my house we’re past the birthdays of our mothers (one a Virgo, one a Libra). We are on the verge of my partner’s birthday (Libra) and our kid’s birthday, who will become a teen in November (Scorpio).

I always like to joke that we tried for a Libra baby and got a Scorpio. There’s truth to it—we just got lucky on the second try. And with my own long history with Scorpios both familial and romantic, and my Scorpio moon, I figured we would be fine (as in: can handle it) if we had a Scorpio, or even a Sagittarius (my rising sign).
